Very is a popular website, offering customers their favourite brands and an easy online shopping experience. The website boasts multiple departments, including Clothing, Home & Garden, Electricals, Gaming, Gifts & Jewellery, Beauty and Toys, each stocking thousands of products that can be purchased at a click of a button.
Very, who are part of the Shop Direct Finance Company, offers customers a Very Account, which allows customers to order items, without having to pay up front. It is a credit account which tracks your purchases and then sends you a monthly statement, with details of how much you owe, and the minimum repayment to pay each month.
Using this credit account enables you to purchase items and pay off the balance off at the end of the month, or just pay the minimum repayment. A Very Account incurs interest of 34.9% interest, which can add up if you are unable to keep up the repayments.
Very also offers a “Buy Now, Pay Later” option for customers, which allows you to purchase items and delay payments for up to 12 months. If you do not pay the full amount back within 12 months (or start to pay the total back), then you will be charged interest at a rate of 44.9%.
Shop Direct Finance is a multi-brand digital retailer, also owning Littlewoods and Isme.
Similar to Next, Very also offers a 3 Step Payment Plan; a credit account that allows you purchase items and spread the cost over 3 months, in 3 equal payments, or alternatively stretch the cost over a longer period of time. If you stretch the payment, and do not pay the full amount back within 3 months, then you will be charged interest at a rate of 39.9%.
In the past, Very has been in the spotlight mis-selling PPI, together with Littlewoods, setting aside £100 million to settle customers PPI Claims.
